Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversees event setup, execution, and breakdown at Pier 27, Pier 29, and Pier 35, ensuring compliance with approved floorplans and venue policies. Serves as the primary on-site liaison between clients, vendors, contractors, and Company A staff during events. Monitors safety and crowd control, proactively addressing hazards and coordinating emergency response if needed. Supervises service contractors (e.g., janitorial, security, parking), confirming hours worked and delegating tasks as necessary. Directs vendors and caterers to ensure proper use of facilities and return of spaces to original condition. Conducts walkthroughs and final check-outs post-event to verify cleanup and reset. Troubleshoots facility and personnel issues in real time, escalating as needed. Mediates conflicts among guests, clients, vendors, and staff by reinforcing Metro Event’s policies with professionalism and diplomacy. Surveys surrounding areas (piers, parking lots, residential buildings) for potential disruptions or negative impacts. Documents event activities and incidents through written reports and communicate key outcomes to the Sales and Operations team. Remains on-site until event conclusion and cleanup, unless otherwise scheduled. Performance Goal: Ensure 100% of assigned events are executed without safety violations or unresolved client/vendor complaints per quarter. Adapts to changing event needs and support multiple venues. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and extended shifts based on event schedules, with increased demand during peak seasons. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications

Required:

Experience:

Minimum 3 years coordinating events and working with clients, vendors, and large groups (1,000+ attendees). Knowledge:

Familiarity with event logistics, safety protocols, and crowd control. Skills: Strong verbal communication, conflict resolution, and customer service. Ability to remain calm and direct others in high-pressure or emergency situations. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities. Ability to lead on-site teams and make independent decisions in high-stakes environments.

High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Experiences:

Experience in waterfront or outdoor venue management. Skills: Ability to document and escalate safety or operational incidents clearly and promptly. Ability to monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with service agreements.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here represent those that are typically required to perform the essential functions of this position. This role requires the ability to see, hear, speak, and communicate clearly. Manual dexterity is needed for operating standard office equipment. The position also requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds during event setup and walkthroughs. Occasional travel between venues and extended periods of standing or walking during events may be required. Work Environment:

Work is performed in both administrative office settings and active event venues, including indoor and outdoor environments. The role may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, large crowds, and moderate noise levels. Safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) are provided and required as appropriate during on-site operations.
