Senior Interface Analyst (CONTRACT POSITION)

Location:

(hybrid onsite) – no relocation candidates allowed

Pay rate:

$40-64 an hr w2

Senior Interface Analyst

will join the collaborative Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) team. The role manages day‑to‑day interface operations and technical requirements of the MMIS system, supporting ongoing data research and analysis efforts. The key responsibilities include planning, developing, and executing interface implementation and data migration activities. The analyst will participate in internal projects, contribute to security and privacy standards, and support improvements to the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Candidates with prior experience in Medicaid systems are preferred. The position requires a self‑directed, collaborative approach to interface design, testing, implementation, and stabilization.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with business teams, partners, and vendors to gather and validate interface requirements.

Design interface solutions in coordination with Functional BAs and Partners.

Define interface specifications and record layouts for the development team.

Review detailed specifications for web services.

Modify existing layouts in coordination with business users and interface partners.

Collaborate with partners on integration testing and validate new or existing interfaces.

Coordinate interface deployment with vendors and partners.

Research and analyze application interface and data issues.

Perform data analysis on inbound and outbound file transfers.

Support data extraction and exchange with external source systems.

Test and approve data conversion for all new projects.

Support maintenance and enhancements of existing interfaces.

Assist in resolving issues by acting as a liaison among business users, interface partners, and development staff.

Coordinate with interface/business partners and production support teams to resolve interface emergency issues.

Coordinate with infrastructure teams for approvals and changes to networks, gateways, security, etc. for all interface‑related changes and production emergencies.

Support the technical requirements of the MMIS hosting and software environments.

Preferred Qualifications

8+ years IT experience with strong interface and data analysis experience.

Technical knowledge of IT infrastructure and hosting environments standards.

Strong understanding of interface design and data structures.

Strong knowledge of SOAP web services, XML, and data exchange.

Experience in file exchange mechanisms and protocols like sftp.

Prior experience developing requirement documents and technical specifications.

Experience with SQL.

Experience with web service validation and testing tools such as SoapUI or similar; defining requirements and testing specifications.

Understanding of encryption and familiarity with Unix/Linux environment.

Strong health insurance business knowledge with focus on interface designs, data structures, and transaction types.

Proficiency in business analysis to support all stages of SDLC.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Education And Certifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, IT, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent work experience.
