Location: Albuquerque, NM (hybrid option available; must be in office at least 3 times a week)
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 – 5 pm
Description The Senior Accountant will support two federal contracting subsidiaries with accounting based activities, performing tasks related to general ledger transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable (invoice creation), month-end close, and balance sheet reconciliations. The role also includes project setup, planning, analysis, and closeout support, including adjusting entries for project work-in-progress.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post monthly journals (labor, cash movement, accruals, prepaid, and project WIP).
Reconcile account balances, bank statements, and the general ledger.
Assist management with financial forecasting, budget preparation, and other strategic initiatives.
Maintain knowledge of New Mexico sales tax requirements by county.
Project Administration: Work with executive leadership and project managers to prepare project reports and provide analysis; track project status and compliance; collect and save final statements and lien waivers; assist with project closeout and month-end WIP review.
Accounts Payable: Collect monthly subcontractor payment applications; reconcile pay application status; support owner billing; review lien waivers; ensure certified payroll reporting; disburse funds; match invoices to purchase orders; prepare final statements; analyze project accounting metrics; manage vendor setups; perform assigned accounting duties.
Accounts Receivable: Review progress billing/invoices for accuracy; match payments to invoices; prepare AR aging reports; coordinate with project manager to collect past‑due balances; release payments to customers.
