Automation Engineer
to design, program, and maintain advanced process control systems for large‑scale industrial operations. About the Role
The Automation Engineer will manage the plant’s process control systems (PCS), ensuring seamless operation, reliability, and integration across production units. The role involves hardware and software maintenance, programming, and system upgrades, while driving process efficiency and supporting cross‑functional departments including Maintenance, Process, Quality, and Environmental. Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain all process‑related control system hardware, software, and documentation. Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues to ensure maximum plant uptime. Develop, modify, and maintain PLC programs (ControlLogix, PLC‑5, SLC 500) and HMI systems (FactoryTalk View SE). Oversee communication networks (Modbus, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.). Implement preventive maintenance plans to reduce downtime and extend PCS lifespan. Support installation and integration of new equipment and systems into plant operations. Provide technical documentation including control schematics, drawings, and specifications. Analyze process performance data to identify improvement opportunities and increase efficiency. Collaborate with electrical and process engineering teams on optimization projects. Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards. What We’re Looking For
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Instrumentation, or a related field. Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLC programming (Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley systems). Experience with AutoCAD, SAP, and VMWare network virtualization. Strong understanding of instrumentation, drives (VFDs), and motor control systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Additional Requirements: Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
