is actively seeking an entry level
Environmental Engineer
for immediate employment within our Environmental Remediation Practices group in our
Chicago or Lisle, Illinois
office to support soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills and methods on challenging field and office assignments in a collaborative team environment.
This position is expected to begin in Early December 2025.
Tasks will include:
Conducting environmental field work, including collecting soil, groundwater, and remediation system data, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of subcontractors.
Producing accurate and complete documentation of operation, inspections, and compliance.
Preparing field documents, and collecting, processing and interpreting field data.
Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.
Interpreting and recording data, conducting analyses, comparing findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Traveling to project locations including driving and overnight stays.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
HAZWOPER 40-Hour Training.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Proficient with AutoCAD.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent attention to Health and Safety.
Knowledge of environmental sampling practices.
Additional Information
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
