Job Summary:

The Department of Pediatric Dentistry in the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The faculty member will also perform patient care through the DCG Dental Faculty Practice Group in order to maintain practice skills and provide treatment for patients. The faculty member will be responsible for education and research activities of the AU DCG Pediatric Dentistry training program as Program Director and provide administrative assistance, teaching and mentorship to residents, faculty, and staff who participate in the program. Engagement in research and scholarly activities and in university or external professional or service activities is also expected.

Responsibilities

Perform patient care through the DCG Dental Faculty Practice Group to maintain practice skills and provide patient treatment.

Provide education and research leadership for the AU DCG Pediatric Dentistry training program as Program Director.

Offer administrative assistance, teaching, and mentorship to residents, faculty, and staff.

Conduct direct patient care and clinical supervision.

Lead departmental teaching primarily in pediatric dentistry, with additional duties in other departments as needed.

Engage in research and scholarly activities to meet scholarly benchmarks for promotion per the Dental College of Georgia P&T policy.

Participate in university or external professional and service activities to contribute to institutional objectives.

Required Qualifications

DDS/DMD degree from an ADA‑accredited dental school.

Valid license to practice dentistry in one of the states or eligibility for the state of Georgia.

Board certification in Pediatric Dentistry.

Ability to obtain hospital privileges and a Georgia sedation license.

Minimum 5 years of academic experience.

Preferred Qualifications

MS, MPH, or PhD degree and/or demonstrated potential for scholarly activities.

Shift, Salary & Benefits This position is fiscal year based and works year‑round. The full‑time equivalent (FTE) is 1.0. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and is subject to availability of funds.
