The Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals, booking new catering business, and detailing events. The role involves working with the operations team to execute group, meeting, and social event business, developing strategic plans to maximize revenue, and working with clients to form Banquet Event Orders.
Key Responsibilities
Solicitation of new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals
Book new catering business and detail events
Sell to a variety of market segments
focusing on the social market
Work with the operation team to execute group
meeting
and social event business
Develop and execute strategic plans to maximize revenue
Quote rates and availability to customers
Communicate effectively with all hotel departments
Set-up and execution of events as needed
Work with clients to form Banquet Event Orders
Assist with other areas as assigned
Work with outside catering companies and local vendors
Log all sales related activity in the sales software system
Qualifications
Previous sales experience in catering
preferably for hotels
Knowledge of CI/TY and Marriott systems
Proficient in Microsoft Word
Office
Internet Explorer/Google Chrome
Well organized and detail oriented
Ability to work independently
Display initiative
perseverance and analytical skills
Effective communication
Professional and ethical
Team player and ability to get along with others
Available to meet guests which may include weekends
Ability to read
write and speak English
with excellent grammar and communication skills
Technical Requirements CI/TY, Lightspeed
Benefits & Rewards $70k to $75k year, plus quarterly bonus, Marriott hotel benefits and discounts
Additional Information Must be flexible with work schedule, including working events, lobby duty, BEO meetings.
