Overview We’re seeking a

Design Engineer

to join a leading precision engineering team focused on advanced CNC grinding solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting‑edge equipment for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications.

Base Pay Range $88,000.00/yr - $98,000.00/yr

Location Michigan (onsite, with potential for hybrid in the future)

Eligibility U.S. citizens only (must be able to work on ITAR projects)

Relocation assistance provided

What You’ll Do

Design & Development:

Create and refine mechanical designs for CNC machines. Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and BOMs to ensure accuracy, manufacturability, and quality.

Engineering Collaboration:

Work closely with senior engineers, as well as electrical and applications teams, to integrate mechanical systems with controls.

CAD & Simulation:

Utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD to develop and validate designs. Apply basic FEA or simulations to ensure mechanical integrity under operational conditions.

Prototyping & Testing:

Support assembly, testing, and evaluation of prototypes, implementing design improvements as needed.

Continuous Improvement:

Participate in design reviews, suggest enhancements, and contribute to improving product reliability, performance, and manufacturability.

Technical Support:

Assist manufacturing and service teams with troubleshooting and design interpretation.

Travel:

Occasional travel to vendor or customer sites may be required.

Skills & Experience

Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD and AutoCAD 2D drawings.

Solid understanding of mechanical systems, machine tool design, and Design for Manufacturability principles.

Experience with FEA or mechanical simulation preferred.

Strong problem‑solving, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Experience in machine tool or industrial equipment design is a plus.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.

2–5 years of experience in machine design, ideally with CNC machinery or precision equipment.
