Position The Boeing Company is seeking a
Structural Technical Integrator
to join the F-22 Air Vehicle Engineering team located in
Berkeley, Missouri , leading F-22 Structural Integrity and Integration. The F-22 Raptor is the first of its kind, fifth fighter combining super-cruise, super-maneuverability, stealth, and sensor fusion. A successful member of this team will understand and execute sustainment and modernization efforts for the F-22 Raptor to maintain air dominance for decades to come. This individual will report to the F-22 Air Vehicle Engineering Senior Manager filling the role of F-22 Structures Technical Integrator and will also be dotted lined to the F-22 Program Chief Engineer, having full PRO-6924 Chief Engineer delegation in structural analysis.
The selected candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, work environment. Team members will work with cross-functional teams including representatives from Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Liaison Engineering, Mods & Heavy Maintenance, and Program Management. The candidate must be able to provide technical directions to teammates on structural analysis and effectively communicate with cross-functional team members, our contracting partner Lockheed Martin, and our USAF customer.
A successful candidate should possess strong structural analysis skills and be proficient with classical solutions, as well as finite element software. Experience with composites and performing fatigue analyses is desired. The candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to work with little oversight and must be able to plan and execute tasks within constraints imposed by internal and external customer schedules. Good communication and leadership skills and experience mentoring junior engineers are highly desirable.

Position Responsibilities
Performs, integrates and documents aircraft structural analysis, using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics, and performance
Guides product design and verify aircraft structural integrity by using classical analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics, and performance
Supports in-service products by investigating failures and proposing/developing/analyzing improvements
Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product\'s airworthiness
Leads the development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and reviews/analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
Defines and documents certification and test results for customers and regulatory agencies to show requirements are satisfied
Works under minimal direction
Occasional travel (10%) may be required to support the USAF customer, and the F-22 Air Vehicle
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
5+ years’ experience with building finite element models, including Fasteners (CELAS, CBUSH, Rutman, etc), Bonded joints, bonded structure that includes honeycomb core, laminate composite details and assemblies, and detailed FEMs using P-element (Stress Check, Mechanica) solvers.
10+ years’ experience in structural analysis
Knowledge of structural design principles for aircraft primary structure (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques)
Experience analyzing fastened and bonded joints with metallic and composite details
Record of designing and sizing repairs for primary flight structures
Skilled at comprehensive detail documentation and clear communication of complex technical details
Experience in a role that required leadership in structural analysis
Experience providing detailed engineering work and schedule estimates for complex projects
Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
14+ more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in post-production systems with emphasis on military aircraft sustainment, repairs, and modification programs
Active U.S. Secret Clearance
