Responsibilities

Supports development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.

Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.

Supports product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.

Coordinates and/or supports the development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

Supports the definition and documentation of certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.

Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.

Supports the development of analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.

Works independently receiving general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion.

Basic Qualifications

Basic knowledge of structural analysis, materials strengths and properties, design criteria, loading conditions, and processes (e.g. non destructive testing, corrosion prevention).

Ability to analyze structure (troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, modification, or redesign) of assigned end items to support the design, development and modification of company products.

Basic knowledge of design concepts and techniques (e.g., concurrent engineering, Design for Manufacture/Assembly [DFM/A]).

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Civil engineering with an emphasis in structures related course material.

Ability to support occasional domestic travel to support our customers.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with analysis of aircraft propulsion structures.

Knowledge of appropriate customer or governmental regulations relevant to aircraft design, test, and certification (e.g., Part 25, MILSPEC).

Knowledge of structural repair principles (e.g., fatigue and corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, repair techniques). Knowledge of structural repair, overhaul, nondestructive inspection, corrosion control, and composites.

Experience in Finite Element Analysis including the use of stress analysis tools such as NASTRAN/PATRAN, HYPERMESH, ABAQUS, or any other stress analysis tools.

Experience with fatigue or durability analysis.

Level 2: $83,300-112,700

Level 3: $98,600-133,400

Level 4: $127,300-163,300
