Responsibilities

Occupational Therapy Assistant must be able to travel nationwide for 13‑week assignments. This position provides flexibility to travel the country and work in various settings.

On assignment, implement occupational therapy programs and provide occupational therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning, under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

Attend, and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.

Provide effective and efficient delivery of rehab services; adherence to an established plan of care, department and patient(s) schedule, and timely documentation of services.

Work with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.

Instruct patients, families, and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.

Maintain appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.

Clean, maintain, identify, and report the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.

Ensure patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.

Implement a patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Occupational Therapist.

Provide individualized occupational therapy interventions including application of therapeutic techniques in areas such as cognitive skills, muscle strength, coordination, endurance, mobility, perceptual abilities, sensory awareness, sitting and standing tolerance, balance, activities of daily living, joint protection, work simplification, orientation, and physical agent modalities.

Organize and facilitate treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist.

Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program according to AOTA & ACOTE standards.

Initial certification obtained from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.

Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state of practice.

Available to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of the therapist's primary home.

Posted Salary Range USD $45.00 - $50.00 /Hr.
