Hiring for Aerospace, DoD, Healthcare, Manufacturing & Supply Chain Roles || Recruiting Specialist for Federal clients, direct clients || US… Analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non‑metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs. Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, producibility, cost, safety, design allowable and structural modeling. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis. Utilizes and validates 3‑D and digital modeling to communicate and support production. Tools utilized such as CATIA, IDEAS, Siemens PLM Software NX, ProEngineer and a variety of analytical software applications.
Background/Need Group is seeking an engineer with expertise in structural engineering for sea, ground, air, and space‑based payloads. The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary engineering team contributing to the development of operational prototype hardware, spanning the full program life cycle from concept development to fielding and test. The candidate will be expected to fill roles as a functional engineer, performing static and dynamic structural analysis, shock and vibration testing and model correlation, and influence the structural design based on findings. Efforts will support rapid, conventional, and Level 1 programs.
Candidate should have ability to perform hand calculations and simplified models in conjunction with utilization of CAD and finite element analysis software, such as FEMAP, NASTRAN, SOLIDWORKS, and ANSYS.
Required skills
5+ years of experience with static and dynamic structural modeling and analysis
Ability to clearly communicate results in oral presentations and written reports
Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
Nice to Haves
Master’s degree in mechanical, aerospace or other relevant field of study
Experience with structural testing and model correlation
Experience with STOP (Structural, Thermal, Optical Performance) analysis
Experience with LOS (Line‑of‑Sight) Jitter analysis
Experience with vibration or shock testing
Experience with test fixture design (or other forms of design)
Experience with predicting the mechanical behavior of structures using finite element analysis for static and dynamic environments, performing vibration and shock environmental testing, and developing tests to characterize the behavior of structural components.

Work Location:
Successful candidate will start
100% onsite until team is comfortable with onboarding status.
After ~6‑9 months, working 1‑2 days/week remotely
