We would love to have you join our dynamic team of demand planners. You (along with your peers) would own the demand forecast for a key category within BIC's North American division. Your analytical chops and ability to work cross-functionally would be a great asset to the Demand Planning team and our ever-growing company!
What You’ll Do:
Create and/or maintain forecasting models for each item in your respective category, leveraging insights from your customers and consumer behavior to drive overall forecast accuracy and delivery of targets.
Leading the forecast collaboration process with Sales teams to provide a forecast for lower-level forecast alignment as well as total category consensus.
Leading category performance assessments, identifying trending behaviors within the portfolio and bringing together the proper teams and insights to drive actionable improvements in the forecast.
Prepare and lead the category demand plan overview within the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, maintaining clear assumptions with risks and opportunities to help business manage performance.
Maintain all master data for items within the category profile, ensuring forecast visibility and assessments can be accurately monitored.
Reviewing system generated statistical forecast for account level sku inconsistencies and adjusting across the planning horizon by utilizing customer prior shipments, POS data, knowledge of business unit trends, and upcoming promotions to guide decision making.
Ensuring all key assumptions and business driving actions are maintained in the forecasting horizon of 18-24 months, including promotions, events, POG’s, discontinued and new products.
Problem solving the highest causes of error by researching error, determining root cause, and driving for improvement.
Supporting growth and innovation as a thought leader on developing, monitoring, and changing of the demand plan.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Operating as a change agent working collaboratively with the supply chain teams/ sales on priority initiatives that optimize service, inventory, and cost for the total value chain.
Identifies opportunities for improvement, makes constructive suggestions for change and drive for results.
The right candidate will need to build and manage relationships with sales, Marketing, customers planning and supply chain.
Process large amounts of data and deliver a concise recommendation. Communicate at various organizational levels and back-up thoughts with facts.
What You’ll Have:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Demand Planning
Individual that is strong math and has excellent analytical skills
You preferably have worked in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry
Comfortable in working with large data sets
Good at adapting to different IT systems and are particularly advanced in Excel (pivots, lookups, formulas)
You have used JDA/Blue Yonder, Manugistics, PowerBI, or syndicated data (IRI/Nielsen) is preferred
Seeking an independent thinker/autonomous worker; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
