The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Manager, Partner Relations in the External Affairs Division to coordinate the efforts of VEDP staff and leadership and conduct direct engagement with state, regional, and local economic development partners to ensure positive and productive relationships.
Responsibilities:
Assist in developing an annual plan for partner engagement strategy and outreach
Provide strategic insight for partner engagement and travel for the CEO and other members of Senior Leadership
Coordinate efforts of the Partner Engagement and Communications subcommittee of the VEDP Executive Leadership Team
Manage the Partner Relations Team (PRT)
Coordinate and develop talking points for VEDP staff on issues impacting economic development
Manage the Partner Protocols review process in conjunction with partners
Assist in coordinating VEDP staff participation for speaking engagements
Manage the planning and execution of regional familiarization tours
Coordinate regular meetings with regional and local economic development organizations
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, and implement projects; negotiate and resolve problems; and formulate and communicate recommendations
Knowledge of the economic development process
Knowledge of business, economic development organizations, and state and local government in Virginia
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong time-management skills, with the ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Experience with event planning and coordination, and writing talking points, guidelines, or position statements
Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically, PowerPoint
Ability to work constructively and effectively in a team environment by making positive contributions to the team's operations, functions, and working relationships
Experience:
Minimum of five years’ experience working in external affairs or similar experience
Being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment. VEDP uses the E-Verify system and does not provide sponsorship.
