The OT Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for architecting, protecting, monitoring, and maintaining delivery of the security of the company’s operational technology (OT) terminal management solutions offerings, including industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA networks, and other automation infrastructure. This role ensures that OT systems are secure, resilient, and compliant with internal and industry cybersecurity standards while enabling reliable and safe operations.

What You Will Be Doing Security Implementation & Management

Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity controls for OT systems, including network segmentation, firewalls, intrusion detection, and endpoint protection.

Manage and maintain secure remote access solutions for vendors and field personnel.

Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, patch management, and system hardening within OT environments.

Monitoring & Incident Response

Monitor OT networks for unusual activity, potential intrusions, and unauthorized access.

Develop and execute incident response plans specific to OT systems.

Support root cause analysis and corrective actions following security incidents.

Collaboration & Compliance

Work closely with IT cybersecurity, automation, and operations teams to align security practices across IT and OT environments.

Ensure compliance with standards such as IEC 62443, NIST 800-82, ISA, and corporate security policies.

Support audits and assessments from internal and external stakeholders.

Risk Management

Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with OT systems and third‑party integrations.

Maintain asset inventories and network diagrams for OT environments.

Project Support

Provide cybersecurity input in the design and deployment of new control systems and industrial automation projects.

Participate in technology evaluations, vendor reviews, and cybersecurity architecture decisions.

Training & Awareness

Promote cybersecurity awareness among engineering and operations staff.

Provide guidance and technical support on cybersecurity best practices for OT personnel.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).

5 or more years of experience in cybersecurity or network engineering, with at least 2 years of experience in OT / ICSES environments.

Experience with networking using industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC, Ethernet / IP, Profibus, etc.).

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS / IPS, SIEM tools, and network monitoring systems.

Understanding industrial control systems, real-time operating systems, and critical infrastructure security.

Proficiency with NIST CSF, ISA / IEC 62443, and MITRE ATT&CK for IC SES frameworks.

Hands-on experience with network segmentation, asset discovery, and vulnerability management tools.

Experience working within Microsoft OS and SQL server environments.

Certifications (preferred)

GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional)

CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+

ISA / IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Expert or related credential

Other skills

Key Interactions

Internally: Collaborate closely with leaders across IT, engineering, and operations.

Externally: Regular contact with vendors and system integrators, cybersecurity solution providers, third‑party maintenance and support contractors, external auditors, industry and regulatory bodies, incident response partners and customers or partners.

Work Environment General conditions include working in a temperature‑controlled office with moderate noise, frequent computer use, and regular meetings. The role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast‑paced setting. Infrequent domestic or international travel may be required to support customers. Availability for on‑call support during critical incidents or maintenance windows.
