Essential Skills
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent experience with an Associate's degree.
5-10 years of experience in machine design.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or Inventor).
Experience with FEA and GD&T.
Experience with hydraulics or pneumatics.
Experience with custom automation equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in the automotive industry.
Creation of Bill of Materials.
Professional Engineer (PE) certification in Engineering or a Master’s Degree.
Experience with SolidWorks and automation equipment for automotive applications.
Job Description As a Machine Design Engineer, you will work on custom automated equipment primarily for the automotive industry. You will utilize FEA, GD&T, and 3D CAD to concept, design, and test complex machines. This role involves collaboration with customers and includes both mechanical and electrical equipment, including gearboxes, electric motors, and load cells. You will also support manufacturing and assembly processes, ensuring project timelines are met and implementing any necessary design changes.
Responsibilities
Conceptualize, design, and test custom automated equipment for the automotive industry.
Utilize FEA, GD&T, and 3D CAD tools for machine design.
Collaborate with customers to understand and meet their equipment needs.
Work with mechanical and electrical components, such as gearboxes, electric motors, and load cells.
Support manufacturing and assembly processes to ensure project timelines are met.
Implement design changes as necessary during the manufacturing process.
