Fann Contracting, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, well qualified individual for the position of Senior Estimator. The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed estimates for projects involving earthwork, grading, asphalt paving, underground utilities, and wastewater treatment facilities.
Minimum Education, Experience And Training
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is required.
Ten (10) years of estimating experience and five (5) years of supervisory experience for heavy civil construction companies required.
Proficiency in computer software applications, such as HCSS estimating software, Microsoft Office 365, and similar systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with alternative delivery methods (e.g., design-build, CM/GC)
Experience with DOT and municipal bidding requirements
Master’s degree in Construction Management (or related field) from accredited college.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively with different groups and individuals.
Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost structures.
Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
Prepare and coordinate cost estimates for heavy civil and heavy highway construction projects.
Review project specifications, drawings, and plans.
Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes.Develop pre-bid construction schedules.
Attend pre-bid meetings and job site visits.
Support junior estimators and coordinate estimating activities.
Develop conceptual and guaranteed maximum price (GMP) estimates.
Prepare and review bid packages.
Assist in the creation of Statements of Qualifications (SOQs).
Coordinate project handoff to operations and field teams.
Maintain accuracy and compliance with company estimating procedures.
