Overland Corporation
Overland Corporation is currently seeking an experienced Estimator. The Estimator will analyze plans and specifications to develop detailed cost estimates in accordance with current company policy and procedures. The estimator will quantify project components assigned by leading estimator.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Quantify project components assigned by the leading estimator.
Visit the project to understand site conditions and restrictions.
Work with the estimating team bidding on the project to build the estimate, then price assigned items in HCSS Heavy Bid.
Review plans, specifications & contract documents.
Provide accurate take‑off.
Work on preliminary project schedule based on the information provided in the plans and specifications.
Contact subcontractors, suppliers, vendors and specialty services for quotes.
Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontractors, productivity analysis reports, etc.
Required Qualifications
Experience as an estimator working on all aspects of large heavy/highway construction.
Projects: structures, bridges, underground, earthwork, asphalt & concrete paving.
Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail oriented.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
HCSS Heavy Bid and Primavera P6 experience.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
Previous field operations are preferred.
