The Superintendent leads a dynamic team of employees in a fast‑growing, fast‑paced work environment. This position ensures projects are delivered successfully and on time, collaborates with engineers and subcontractors to determine projects needs, and oversees staff performance. The Superintendent follows quality standards and ensures the safety and security of the construction site. This role must be available to work full‑time (40 hrs/week) subject to overtime, on call (24/7), alternating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Pay is negotiable.
What You’ll Do
Lead safety and quality control policies among employees and subcontractors to ensure the project runs smoothly and on schedule
Plan construction processes and set performance goals and deadlines
Maintain a daily diary of all activities and site conditions and manage the punch list and closeout process for the job
Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback
Monitor and report on project progress
Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities
Order the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance
Keep track of material stock and orders
Ensure the job site is safe, clean, and orderly and resolve on‑site issues and emergencies
Follow company and federal rules, policies, and procedures – wear required safety equipment, respond to and act on safety concerns

What We Need from You
Must be 18 years of or older with a High School diploma or equivalent
2 or more years experience in track inspection and maintenance
Previous experience as a foreman or superintendent in railroad construction industry
Willing to submit to a background check, pre‑employment drug screening, and random drug tests
Must pass all required assessments/trainings
Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites and an in-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
Must have a great attitude, the ability to motivate team members on site, and strong organizational and time‑management skills
Proficiency in MS Office
Accountability and integrity are essential as the decisions made in the role affect countless others
Willing to work in all weather conditions (extreme hot, cold, rain, snow, sleet, etc.)
Recognize, avoid, and report potential hazards
Willing and able to travel to various job sites, including those that require overnight stay and short notice mobilization
Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, crawl, and crouch; climb stairs and/or ladders; use hands to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjust focus
