Role Description The Staff Accountant will assist in tax preparation, accounting, and financial reporting for a diverse portfolio of clients. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare individual and business tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065).
Maintain accurate bookkeeping and general ledger records.
Perform monthly reconciliations of bank, credit card, and loan accounts.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, identifying trends and variances.
Process payroll and file payroll tax forms.
Ensure compliance with IRS, state, and local tax regulations.
Assist clients with accounting inquiries and document requests.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices.
1–3 years of accounting experience (public accounting preferred).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with tax software (e.g., Ultimate Tax, TaxWise, or Pro Series) preferred.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
CPA candidate preferred but not required.
Ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members.
