Director Of Accounting Proposed Salary Range : $120,000 - $150,000 (Annually) Based on Experience

Work Location : Onsite (No Hybrid or Remote)

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Director of Accounting to lead our accounting operations and ensure financial integrity across the organization. This role is responsible for overseeing internal controls, financial reporting, compliance, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a passion for driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Oversight

Direct all accounting functions including General Ledger, Accounts Payable / Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cost Accounting, and Tax scheduling.

Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with IFRS and internal Panasonic Energy Corporation (PEC) standards.

Internal Controls and Compliance

Design and maintain internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with PEC SOX requirements.

Oversee audit readiness and manage relationships with internal and external auditors.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.

Present financial results, variance analyses, and strategic insights to executive leadership and the parent company.

Forecasting and Budgeting

Manage the preparation of monthly forecasts and annual budgets.

Provide clear, data-driven recommendations to support business planning and performance improvement.

Cost Accounting and Asset Management

Oversee product cost determination including raw materials, labor, and overhead.

Manage fixed asset lifecycle: approvals, depreciation schedules, disposals, and audits.

Team Leadership

Lead and develop the accounting team, ensuring adherence to best practices and continuous improvement.

Foster cross‑functional collaboration to support strategic decision‑making across departments.

Special Projects

Drive or support strategic financial initiatives and process improvement projects as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities Manages Accounting Department employees: accountants, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and credit. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the accounting team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and / or Experience B.A. Accounting degree, CPA, and ten years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, team members, external team members and auditors.

Mathematical Skills Ability to apply mathematical concepts ratios, multiplication, and division. Ability to apply mathematical operations, analysis of financial ratios, variances, and trends.

Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of data variances and provide understandable explanations. Possess the ability to adapt to Panasonic accounting and reporting.
