Rancho Cucamonga, CA and surrounding area

Schedule:

6 AM – 6 PM, Mon – Fri (may be asked to cover Saturday shift). 8‑hour shifts; earliest start 6 AM or latest end 6 PM.

CA State Phlebotomy License required; valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed

Float coverage:

PSC locations in Upland, CA and Fontana, CA, and other regions as needed

Summary The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training and making workflow recommendations.

Position Responsibilities

Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information

Collect and store specimens according to established procedures

Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously; collect other specimen types (e.g., urine, fecal) as required

Demonstrate proper technique with straight needles and/or butterfly needles

Fully understand all physicians' orders; match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order

Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy

Package specimens for transport; store samples at required temperature; follow protocols to maintain specimen integrity

Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations

Attend annual departmental trainings

Answer telephone calls; read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries

Minimum Qualifications

Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where employed

Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast‑paced lab or hospital setting

Experience with pediatric and geriatric hard‑stick draws required

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum 2 years of experience
