Electrical / Instrumentation Engineer – Chemical Manufacturing A leading chemical manufacturing facility in

is seeking a highly skilled Electrical / Instrumentation Engineer to support the reliability, safety, and automation of the plant’s electrical systems and process instrumentation. This is a key engineering role responsible for optimizing electrical infrastructure, leading capital projects, and ensuring compliance with industrial safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems, including switchgear, electrical distribution panels, lighting systems, and emergency power systems, while maintaining full arc flash compliance and electrical safety protocols.

Read and interpret P&IDs, engineering drawings, and technical documentation to support troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and accurate recordkeeping.

Manage and maintain spare parts inventory for all electrical and instrumentation components; ensure documentation and system configurations are current and compliant.

Support and lead capital projects by preparing bid packages, developing construction documentation, and writing technical specifications for new installations and system upgrades.

Drive process automation improvements through the application of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to enhance system reliability and process control.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including maintenance, operations, procurement, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with technical goals.

Utilize SAP for maintenance planning, inventory management, and procurement workflows. Employ Microsoft Office and MS Project for project scheduling, technical reporting, and internal communication.

Mentor and provide technical leadership to instrumentation technicians, fostering their growth and ensuring adherence to best practices in electrical and instrumentation engineering.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Proven expertise in electrical distribution systems, industrial instrumentation, and automation technologies.

Proficiency in SAP, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Hands‑on experience in a Process Safety Management (PSM) environment within chemical manufacturing or similar industrial process industries.

Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.

Ability to respond to non‑routine, emergency, and critical situations, including plant shutdowns, startups, and commissioning activities.
