Job Summary Seeking an experienced Senior Radio Frequency (RF) engineer to join our dynamic wireless communications team. You will play a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, planning, deploying, and troubleshooting Land Mobile Radio (LMR), private LTE (pLTE), Microwave, and Narrowband networks in the electric gas and water utility space.

Overland Park KS – onsite, 5 days/week.

Key Responsibilities As a Senior RF Engineer you will oversee the end-to-end RF engineering lifecycle for utility and other clients from initial site surveys and system modeling to deployment, testing, and optimization. You will serve as the SME for LMR and Microwave technologies, providing technical guidance on propagation modeling, interference mitigation, and spectrum management.

The role may include technical advisory and consulting services to clients. Additionally, you should be able to support business development and pursuit activities, including creating proposals, scoping, estimating level of effort, and implementation plans.

Leads and participates in project execution and technical delivery.

Skills

Advanced knowledge of RF design and engineering principles, guidelines, and standards.

Self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Hands-on configuration experience on a variety of radio vendors.

Advanced knowledge of wireless technologies such as LMR, Microwave, and LTE.

Experience with configuring and testing wireless systems.

Experience with technical proposals.

Knowledge of RF/Microwave radio equipment configuration (plus).

Critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills.

Advanced oral and written communication abilities.

Consulting mindset and quality assurance.

Professional presentation skills.

Education and Experience Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program, plus a minimum of 11 years related work experience.
