Primary Purpose of Position:
This position provides essential support for the environmental chemistry infrastructure of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. This includes managing and maintaining both dedicated teaching and advanced research laboratory spaces, supporting the analytical chemistry needs of both students and faculty within these two environments.
Summary of Position Responsibilities The Lab Manager will oversee safety, training, operations, and administration in the environmental engineering research and teaching laboratories, serve as the central coordinator for safety and compliance, and support the research and teaching activities for students, postdocs, and faculty.
Minimum Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, and experience in using/maintaining instruments in an analytical chemistry or environmental laboratory setting.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Strong knowledge of lab safety and compliance standards.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
