This opportunity is for a School-based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support elementary students in Lehigh Acres, FL. The role is contracted for the current school year (CSY) and focuses on assisting certified speech-language pathologists in delivering speech and language services within an elementary school setting.
Key Responsibilities
Assist speech-language pathologists in evaluating and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders
Implement individualized treatment plans under direct supervision
Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records
Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to support student communication needs
Participate in team meetings and contribute to individualized education programs (IEPs)
Qualifications and Skills
Certification or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
Experience working in a school environment preferred, particularly with elementary-aged children
Knowledge of speech and language development and related disorders
Ability to follow therapy plans and adapt strategies to meet student needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
