Key Responsibilities People Management
Provide direct supervision, training, and guidance to direct‑service staff.
Ensure all direct reports comply with HR‑360 policies, procedures, and performance goals.
Conduct formal performance evaluations and give ongoing feedback.
Identify each direct report’s strengths and weaknesses and foster their professional growth.
Arrange necessary trainings and resources for staff performance.
Support the manager with interviewing, hiring, and terminations.
Develop and implement performance improvement plans and manage terminations when needed.
Maintain open communication with the manager regarding employee matters.
Schedule and facilitate team meetings to support client care and staff development.
Treatment Oversight
Provide clinical and administrative oversight of all treatment services delivered by direct reports.
Ensure services are strengths‑based, trauma‑informed, and culturally competent.
Ensure ethical and legal delivery of treatment.
Review clinical documentation and provide co‑signatures as required.
Ensure timely documentation, assessment, treatment planning, and discharge as program requirements.
Identify team treatment oversight needs and communicate them to the manager.
Assume ownership of crisis situations and see them through to completion, including documentation and on‑call responsibilities.
Facilitate and assist with client case conferences.
Ensure collaborative communication among the behavioral health team members.
Program Management
Ensure treatment plans and activities align with the organization’s mission, vision, and strategy.
Maintain team productivity and contract utilization.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with contractors and collaborators.
Ensure compliance with all programmatic and contractual requirements.
Oversee direct reports’ compliance with daily program operations and policies.
Manage team performance, including productivity and quality of services.
Consult with the manager on client assignment and workload distribution.
Direct Service
Provide crisis intervention, assessments, individual services, group services, case conferences, and treatment plans as assigned.
Assume ownership of crisis situations and ensure completion of all service components.
Qualifications Education, Certification, and Experience
Required: MSW, MFT, LPCC, or PsyD from a regionally accredited graduate program and registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) or the California Board of Psychology (CBP).
Desired: Minimum of three years’ experience supervising direct‑service providers in comparable agencies; experience with co‑occurring mental health and substance use disorders; trauma‑informed care experience; strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Background Clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory background check.
Ability to obtain and maintain live‑scan clearance.
Knowledge
Ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) and internet applications.
Experience working with individuals with substance abuse, mental health, and criminal background issues.
Must complete background check and live‑scan clearance. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered.
