Position Overview As a Quality Reliability Engineer, you will help source high‑quality parts and services globally, ensure optimal cost, on‑time delivery, and a robust supply chain to deliver vehicles customers demand.
Responsibilities
Implement commodity‑specific business plans to ensure suppliers exceed launch, quality, capacity, warranty metrics and vehicle delivery.
Lead cross‑functional decisions with Ford & supplier leadership to resolve open issues.
Implement actions to prevent vehicle losses from suppliers.
Principal for on‑site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations.
Lead adherence to Ford standards (i.e., Q1).
Drive assessment & validation of manufacturing feasibility at identified supplier sites.
Execute the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Quality Planning Process (APQP).
Use data, metrics, and business plans to drive future sourcing decisions and improve quality.
Skills Required
Quality management, problem solving, APQP, PPAP processes.
Ability to develop and present materials to leadership on short notice.
Ability to lead resolution of manufacturing, quality, or capacity issues on‑site with suppliers.
Experience Required
5+ years in manufacturing processes (casting, machining, forging, stamping, welding, plastic/rubber molding, brazing, sintering, automated/manual assembly).
Experience in controls automation programming, paint, chroming, SMC.
Experience Preferred Manufacturing, maintenance, and quality operations experience.
Education Required Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical/manufacturing aptitude.
Education Preferred Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
Additional Information STA Launch Engineers must be able to travel U.S., Canada, and Mexico approximately 75% of the time.
Seniority Level Mid‑Senior level.
Employment Type Full‑time.
