A frontline leadership position with Jacobs’ Atlanta Airlines Terminal (AAT) project requiring exceptional judgement, independent analysis, solid technical, and proven people leader skills to effectively assign resources that support client and customer requirements for the delivery of quality HVAC BMS and O&M services at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Duties of the position will primarily be performed on-site during normal business hours; however, as an HVAC Superintendent/BAS Coordinator off-hours, weekend, and night work may be required to accommodate special project requests, BMS system emergencies, inclement weather operations, and other conditions to ensure O&M service continuity. The HVAC Superintendent/BAS Coordinator will possess detailed knowledge in the area of HVAC mechanical maintenance, as well as building automation system controls and programming and will provide supervision, analysis, and evaluation of the BMS controls team’s performance. The HVAC Superintendent/BAS Coordinator will have proven skills driving improved quality, productivity, and safety and be responsible for providing reliable and responsive manager support to ensure effective and efficient operations of site assets and systems. Knowledge of HVAC system design, operations, and maintenance requirements in large-scale commercial, institutional, aviation, or manufacturing settings. Ability to direct the use of tools and equipment applicable to the testing, preventative maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment and BMS systems. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, vendor data, technical data sheets, etc. Ability to demonstrate general knowledge and work practices consistent with HVAC industry standards, state of Georgia codes, OSHA safe work practices associated with HVAC equipment and safety systems. Ability to lead a team in troubleshooting, diagnostics, programming, and repair of HVAC equipment and BMS systems. Proficient in computer software and CMMS applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite, Hexagon EAMS, Maintenance Connection, Maximo, etc. Ability to ensure BMS team is well-versed in general operations, safety practices and policies, as well as specific knowledge of procedures and standards applicable to the safe practice of HVAC equipment and BMS equipment preventative maintenance and repair. Ability to lead, direct, manage and work as part of a team of HVAC technical professionals in the delivery services to the Atlanta Airlines Terminal Company (AATC). High school diploma with hands-on experience in Building Automation Systems or HVAC Controls. Ideally, you’ll also have Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Automation, Electronic Technology, or related technical field. 5–8 years of hands-on experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS) in commercial, institutional, or industrial environments. Proven ability to configure, operate, and troubleshoot major BMS platforms such as Johnson Controls Metasys, Siemens, Honeywell, or Automated Logic (ALC). Experience in system graphics development, alarm and trend configuration, and schedule optimization. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, AHUs, VAVs, pumps, and VFDs, and how they integrate through the BMS. Knowledge of network communication protocols such as BACnet. Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control drawings and sequences of operation. Experience coordinating with contractors, controls technicians, and engineering teams during system installations and upgrades. Proven experience in system commissioning, testing, and functional verification of new or retrofit projects. Skilled in data analysis, trend reporting, and energy efficiency optimization through BAS adjustments. Strong organizational and communication skills for managing service tickets, scheduling, and reporting with stakeholders. Working Conditions Safety is a core value at Jacobs. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
