Senior Geologist - Hydrogeological Services Department
As a Senior Geologist for Bunnell Lammons Engineering, Inc. (BLE), you will play a pivotal role in leading complex geological projects, analyzing data, and communicating findings to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership, training, mentoring and support to junior staff; serve as a regional soil and groundwater subject matter expert.
Manage and analyze groundwater compliance at landfill facilities.
Prepare and review Alternative Source Demonstrations (ASD), Assessment of Corrective Measures (ACM), and Corrective Action Plans (CAP).
Manage and prepare Hydrogeological Assessment Reports (HAR) for existing and greenfield landfill and mine sites.
Manage and prepare geological economic resource evaluations for existing and greenfield mine sites.
Develop and manage Environmental Monitoring Plans (EMP) for landfill sites.
Manage subsurface investigation and remediation project scope, schedule, budget, staff, and subcontractors for public and private sector clients.
Provide peer review of project deliverables such as reports, proposals, cost estimates and plans for national, regional, and local clients.
Develop and update proposal, report, plan, and protocol templates for hydrogeological and geologic evaluations; disseminate updates to branch managers and project managers.
Conduct internal audits of projects to ensure compliance with industry and company standards.
Act as liaison and advocate for clients with state and federal environmental regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's in geology, civil/environmental engineering, environmental science, or related field.
10 years of senior level experience with at least 5 years managing projects, supervising and mentoring staff, preparing and reviewing technical proposals, regulator interactions and negotiations, and providing QA/QC of deliverables.
Professional Geologist (PG) credentials.
Ability to design field sampling programs, manage multiple subcontractors, and interpret geological, hydrogeological, and chemical data from contaminated sites.
Proficiency in groundwater statistics.
Effective technical writing, strong oral communication, presentation, and time management skills.
Excellent leadership and client management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet organization and project objectives.
Technically adept, flexible, and forward‑thinking.
Ability to track and meet budgets and schedules.
Attention to detail and ability to work under periodic time constraints.
Demonstrated knowledge of Federal, State, and Local solid waste and mining requirements.
Willingness to travel regionally for short periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications
M.S. Degree.
Experience with groundwater modeling.
GIS and/or CAD experience.
OSHA 40‑hour HAZPOWER certification.
