Position: School-Based Social Worker
Location: New York
Employment Type: Full-time

Age Group: Elementary, Middle and High School
Total Hours per Week: 35‑40 hours
Duration of Contract: School Year
Bonuses

Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work (MSW preferred)
Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state
Experience working with children, adolescents and families in an educational or clinical setting
Strong understanding of child development, mental health, trauma‑informed care and crisis intervention
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, administrators and behavior specialists
Empathy, cultural sensitivity and a commitment to equity and inclusion
Responsibilities
Provide counseling and support services to students facing social, emotional or behavioral challenges
Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans tailored to individual student needs
Serve as a liaison between the school, families and community resources
Assist in crisis situations and facilitate referrals to outside services when needed
Collaborate with staff to support student success in both academic and personal development
Maintain accurate documentation and uphold ethical and confidentiality standards
