Job Description
Position: J Construction – Superintendent
We provide on‑site coordination for all phases of high‑end residential construction projects, ensuring that specifications are strictly followed and work proceeds on schedule and within budget. The Superintendent is responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, safety, and communication with the project team.
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors on the critical path.
Perform quality control duties and ensure compliance with project scope.
Communicate with the project team regarding ASIs, RFIs, and material submittals.
Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
Identify subcontractor non‑compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
Maintain a daily written log of site activities.
Supervise multiple job sites simultaneously.
Issue notices of non‑compliance to subcontractors regarding quality or scheduling.
Keep the job site clean, organized, and safe.
Perform punch‑list identification and completion.
Secondary Functions
Assist with budgeting, bidding, and award of subcontracts.
Obtain permits and revise approvals as needed.
Collect project material submittals and maintain records at the job site.
Preside at pre‑construction meetings with each subcontractor.
Secure the job site at the start and end of each day.
Assist in hiring sub‑tier employees.
Job Scope The Project Superintendent is solely responsible for ensuring that the project is completed on time and in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local codes. The Superintendent coordinates field work, communicates conflicts or revisions to the project team, and enforces quality control programs. No direct authority to contract; all monetary agreements must be approved by the Director of Operations.
Supervisory Responsibility Supervise all subcontractors, consultants, and vendors on a daily basis to ensure adequate manpower and compliance with work standards. Oversee Assistant‑Superintendents and monitor security personnel.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Lead and resolve problems among 30+ subcontractors and vendors.
Identify deficient work and recommend resolutions.
Communicate by telephone, fax, written logs, email, and digital camera.
Read blueprints accurately.
Physically lift up to 100 lbs; endure long site visits.
Monitor site health and safety.
Provide excellent customer service and resolve conflicts.
Use strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Work effectively in teams and individually.
Plan and organize tasks efficiently.
Demonstrate professionalism and dependability.
Continuously seek initiatives and opportunities for improvement.
Other Qualifications
Must be able to travel to job sites as assigned.
Education and/or Experience Minimum three years of verifiable experience in high‑end residential construction, with thorough knowledge of trades and computer literacy. Experience with Master Builder systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook) preferred.

Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Reasoning Ability Resolve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.

Salary: $55,000 – $80,000 per year
Experience Level: 3+ years in construction (high‑end residential preferred)
Schedule: 8‑hour shift, Monday to Friday, weekend availability required
Location: Miami, FL (in person, must be able to commute or relocate)
Required Driver’s License
Day Shift required
