How You’ll Make a Difference (Essential Functions) As the Vice President of Human Resources, you will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, leading key functions that shape Agrace’s culture and workforce. You will oversee Human Resources, Volunteer Services, Employee Experience, and Education and Workforce Development, ensuring all programs align with Agrace’s mission, values, and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Leadership—Lead HR-related departments with clear vision, strategic oversight, and a culture that reflects Agrace's core values. Collaborate with executive peers to design and implement organization strategies and initiatives. Partner with the CEO on executive compensation, retirement, and benefits programs, preparing recommendations for Board review. Contribute to the development of the Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan, ensuring alignment between business goals and people strategy. Develop and mentor emerging leaders across the organization. Advise senior leadership on complex employment matters, workforce planning, and labor law compliance. Serve as part of the leadership team responsible for emergency response and organizational accessibility.

Human Resources Leadership—Provide executive oversight of all HR functions, including compensation, benefits, employee relations, compliance, and talent management. Serve as the Plan Administrator for retirement and benefits programs, overseeing vendor relationships, audits, and compliance with ERISA and plan charters. Lead annual benefits negotiations, executive compensation analysis, and performance-based pay recommendations. Ensure recruitment strategies attract and retain top talent across all levels, including executive and clinical roles. Oversee employee relations, coaching, and performance improvement practices. Drive leadership development, performance management, and succession planning initiatives. Collaborate across departments to maintain HR operational excellence, compliance, and high engagement levels.

Volunteer Services Leadership—Oversee the strategic direction and daily operations of Agrace’s Volunteer Services. Ensure volunteer programs meet patient, family, and regulatory requirements, including Medicare volunteer participation standards. Cultivate a culture of volunteerism aligned with Agrace’s mission.

Employee Experience Leadership—Champion Agrace’s culture and employee engagement efforts across the employee lifecycle. Provide executive oversight to the Employee Experience Committee, Affinity Groups, and Veterans Affairs Task Force. Lead initiatives to assess and improve employee satisfaction, retention, and workplace culture. Ensure annual employee feedback processes result in actionable, organization-wide improvements.

Education and Workforce Development Leadership—Oversee professional development and clinical education programs that advance staff skills and leadership capability. Partner with the Chief Compliance Officer to identify regulatory and clinical learning needs and ensure compliance-focused education. Evaluate return on investment for training initiatives and ensure all onboarding, orientation, and continuing education programs are effective and engaging.

Team Management—Lead and develop department staff, fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth. Oversee hiring, training, performance management, and succession planning within the HR and related teams. Promote cross‑training and operational continuity across leadership areas.

You Bring (Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree or HR certification (SPHR / SHRM‑SCP) preferred.

10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior or executive role.

Proven success developing and implementing HR strategy aligned with organizational mission and business goals.

Strong understanding of employment law, compensation and benefits, employee engagement and organizational development.

Experience in nonprofit or healthcare settings preferred.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
