We are looking for a Design and Release Engineer (DRE) with solid experience in automotive interior systems, particularly in seating, soft trim, structure, and kinematics. The role involves full responsibility for component design, development, and release, working closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure product quality and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and release interior seating components including soft trim, structures, mechanisms, and related sub-systems. Manage CAD models, drawings, and BOMs in alignment with OEM standards and program milestones. Ensure design feasibility, manufacturability, and compliance with quality and safety requirements. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Program Management teams to resolve technical issues and support project deliverables. Participate in DFMEA, DVP&R, and validation processes for assigned components. Interface directly with suppliers and OEM engineering teams throughout all development stages. Support engineering change management and ensure timely design release through Teamcenter or equivalent PLM systems. Provide on-site or virtual support during prototype builds and launch phases. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 6+ years of experience in automotive interior or seating design and release (OEM or Tier-1 environment). Proficiency in CATIA V5 or NX and Teamcenter. Strong understanding of seating systems, soft trim, structure design, and kinematics. Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T, and APQP processes. Excellent communication and teamwork skills in cross-functional environments. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. Seniority level
