Job Overview The Senior Admissions Officer supports all functions of J.D. and Graduate admissions at the Georgetown University Law Center. The incumbent assists with application processing, decision processing, data analysis, reporting, interviews, wait‑listing, scholarships, admissions events, and programs. The Senior Admissions Officer serves as a subject‑matter expert and resource for the team of Admissions Officers.

Responsibilities

Meet with prospective applicants and other visitors at the Admissions Office, answer questions, provide information, and provide materials for self‑guided tours.

Process applications and answer applicant inquiries via email and phone.

Build reports, generate and analyze data throughout the admissions cycle.

Oversee the process of issuing admissions decisions.

Serve as a resource and subject‑matter expert for the team of Admissions Officers.

Undertake special projects at the request of the Assistant Director of Operations, Dean of Admissions, Assistant Dean for Graduate Admissions, or Directors, including primary responsibility for at least one significant officer portfolio.

Manage application material for waitlist candidates and run waitlist statistics.

Work with firms and campuses across the country to coordinate the Dean of Admissions group interview program.

Oversee the administration of the Early Outreach Initiative.

Manage scholarships by tracking requests, pulling and sending rosters, identifying scholarship interests, sending scholarship decisions, and tracking responses.

Oversee the application process for JD Transfer and Special Programs.

Organize recruiting events, including maintaining event calendars, organizing Zooms, shipping materials, and reserving rooms.

Work Interactions The Senior Admissions Officer supports the Assistant Director of Operations in running reports, producing data, and processing admissions decisions. The Senior Admissions Officer may serve as backup for the Assistant Director of Operations during busy times or while on leave.

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

2–3 years of full‑time work experience required; 1+ year of progressive experience in an Office of Admissions preferred.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office, the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies, and advanced administrative skills required.

Ability to juggle multiple tasks and manage conflicting deadlines simultaneously.

Preferred qualifications: Experience with Banner Student Information System and relevant CRM software(s).

Pay Range $41,926.00 – $65,090.00
