Roles and Responsibilities
Conceptual or theoretical activities related to the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems, including static and dynamic behavior.
Develop specialized knowledge in mechanical engineering, serve as a best‑practice/quality resource, and contribute to strategy and policy development.
Analyze and improve component durability within the High‑Pressure Turbine (HPT), including technical improvement of existing parts, rig design, TOPS8Ds, and hardware redesign.
Use judgment to solve moderately complex tasks, supporting manufacturing, technology, or engineering decisions.
Lead small projects with moderate risk, act as a resource for less experienced colleagues, and influence others via strong communication.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of design engineering experience.
Legal authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).
Desired Characteristics
Master’s degree in engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of turbomachinery or rotating parts design experience.
Strong HPT/HPC rotor design experience and MRB certification.
Experience with TOPS8DS and GE Aerospace’s FLIGHT DECK lean operating model.
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Proven problem‑solving, program/project leadership, planning, and execution abilities.
Established project management skills.
