Be the HR heartbeat of two manufacturing plants. You’ll work across Sterling, Illinois and Maquoketa, Iowa, collaborating with plant leaders to recruit, onboard, and support employees. Your day will include candidate pipelines, hiring manager coordination, onboarding sessions, employee relations, benefits administration, culture initiatives, internship programs, and various HR projects.
Responsibilities
Drive plant-level recruiting: craft postings, screen applicants, conduct interviews, and coordinate selections with hiring managers.
Deliver memorable onboarding: run orientations and complete Dayforce HRIS setup for each new teammate.
Serve as a trusted point of contact for policies, questions, and workplace concerns.
Support healthy employee relations aligned with company values and professionalism.
Coach leaders through performance improvement plans and formal disciplinary steps.
Maintain precise, compliant employee records in Dayforce.
Assist with benefits administration, including open enrollment and employee support.
Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
Activate culture-building initiatives: wellness, recognition, and team-building events.
Coordinate the summer internship program and high school scholarship efforts.
Partner with the HR Manager/Director on projects and continuous improvement.
Tackle additional HR duties as needed.
Success Criteria
Clear, confident communication across the shop floor and the office.
Discretion and empathy in sensitive conversations.
Flawless organization with strong follow-through on multiple priorities.
Proficiency in recruiting, compliance, benefits, and employee relations.
Comfort with HRIS (Dayforce preferred) and Microsoft Office.
Resourceful problem-solver with a service mindset.
Unwavering integrity when handling confidential data.
Qualifications
2–4 years in a Human Resources Generalist capacity with hands‑on recruiting, employee relations, and HR compliance.
Experience with Dayforce or a comparable HRIS platform.
Solid knowledge of employment laws and benefits administration.
Compensation & Logistics
Pay Range: $52,000 – $60,000 per year.
Work Location: Onsite – Sterling, Illinois & Maquoketa, Iowa.
Travel: Up to 20%.
