Job Location San Diego, CA (Onsite). Domestic/International travel required, possibly 10% of time

Job Description GALT Aerospace is seeking a full‑time salaried Production/Material Planner to who will create and optimize the flow of materials to support production schedules and meet customer demand.

At GALT Aerospace, the planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring the flow of materials and products throughout the manufacturing cycle. The planner will utilize GALT's ERP/MRP system to forecast needs, manage inventory levels, and coordinate with internal and external suppliers to ensure production is efficient and on schedule. Responsibilities also include supplier collaboration and management, cross‑functional communication, support for financial reporting and analysis, and material analysis.

GALT Aerospace Production/Material Planner must know the fundamentals of project and resource planning such as resource scheduling including critical chain analysis, risk identification and mitigation, planning, coordinating, and managing procurement activities, and have working knowledge of the basics of defense contracting and contracting with suppliers and sub‑contractors.

The GALT Aerospace Production/Material Planner will have significant responsibility and will be accountable for material success. Time management skills are extremely important to effectively carry out the demands of this position. They must be team‑oriented, be an effective communicator, have great problem‑solving skills and be able to work in a cooperative manner. The Production/Material Planner is expected to know industry norms, and safe practices to effectively carry out their duties.

Required Skills, Experience, And Education

3+ years of supply chain experience as a planner, preferably in the aerospace defense industry

Implement material strategies and ensure material requirements are met for production

Communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers

Identify and resolve potential production bottlenecks, inventory shortages, or other material challenges that could disrupt the manufacturing process

Collaborate with program management, engineering, and operations to develop, implement, execute and improve processes to minimize and manage material risk.

A high level of skill working with ERP/MRP Systems and dealing with large data sets

A high level of skill with Microsoft Office tools including MS-Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams

Understanding of lean manufacturing principles

Accuracy in record‑keeping, order processing, and shipment tracking

This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)

Preferred Skills, Experience And Education

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field

2+ years experience working with CostPoint ERP/MRP system

Certification in lean six sigma green belt or higher

Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environment

Strong critical and analytical thinking abilities

Ability to take initiative, multi‑task and work well under pressure

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of FAR/DFARS/ITARs or recent experience supporting a government contractor environment.

Eligible for a DOD security clearance

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit or stand for 1 hour at a time

Must be able to operate a computer

Pay Scale At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $90,000 to $110,000 and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
