Job Summary: The PSR 2 is responsible for sustaining an environment of intrinsic goodwill for the practice while providing optimum services to patients. This position performs a variety of duties, providing front office support for the department/clinical team for which it is assigned. This position is primarily based in the Cardiology Clinic at the Ellison Ambulatory Care Center and does not routinely float to other Hospital Operations units. Key responsibilities include providing professional phone support through the clinic call center, managing front desk operations, assisting with patient discharge, and coordinating appointment scheduling in collaboration with clinical staff to ensure efficient clinic flow and excellent patient service. Coordinate Medical Office Services Perform Additional Job Functions as needed to support clinic operations Minimum Qualifications

High School/GED equivalent or related work experience Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, patients, and the public; able to respond professionally to upset individuals Ability to efficiently use computer applications (email, spreadsheets, word processing, medical office management, scheduling, demographic and insurance information) Typing skills sufficient for timely and accurate input Writing skills with proper English grammar, spelling, and punctuation Bookkeeping skills to maintain patient financial records and deposits Organizing skills to manage priorities in a high-volume, interruptive environment Knowledge of medical office procedures (terminology, appointments, records, insurance verification, cashiering, billing, etc.) Filing skills to maintain organized records Knowledge of HIPAA and privacy regulations Knowledge of health care insurance systems and billing/documentation requirements Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding as applicable to services rendered Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a customer service-focused role Experience handling multi-line phone systems Medical or hospital setting experience including scheduling, registration, or discharge Experience verifying medical insurance in a healthcare environment Position Information
