O.R. Material Associate

Location:

New York, NY 10029

Pay Range:

$18.00/hr to $20.00/hr

Shift:

Nights, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Sunday to Thursday

Duration:

02 Months (Contract) with possible extension

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manage shelf stock of all consumables used in the perioperative environment, including commodity and implantable products.

Place orders directly with vendors using appropriate computer applications.

Manage cycle counts, inventory balance adjustments, and physical inventory count sheets.

Review implant logs daily to replace low-quantity, high-unit-cost implantables as they are used.

Maintain accurate item and vendor files in the purchasing system by updating key fields such as description, manufacturer, catalog number, price, and inventory bin locations.

Provide cross-training for all preoperative specialty areas (Cardiac, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Vascular, GU/Gyn, Plastics, and Ophthalmology) to ensure trained staff coverage during short staffing or vacancies.

Collaborate with other support departments to ensure timely and appropriate supply and logistical services.

Respond promptly to all product and device recalls mandated by the FDA, CDC, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.

Coordinate manufacturer recalls by working with Nurse Managers and Nurse Coordinators to identify alternate product sources.

Collaborate with nursing staff to identify appropriate par levels and supply locations; recommend process changes to ensure effective and efficient OR supply management.

Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications Skills Required:

Good verbal and written communications skills required.

Able to lift boxes and push carts of supplies might be up to 50 pounds.

Supply Chain experience is but not necessary.

Computer literate.

Education Required:

High School Degree/GED; Associate degree or some college.
