Seeking a dedicated and experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workers' compensation law and a passion for advocating on behalf of TPAs, carriers, and employers. This role involves providing expert legal counsel, managing all aspects of workers' compensation claims, and representing clients at every stage of the process. Our firm offers a collaborative team environment, reasonable billing requirements, and supports a healthy work‑life balance.
Responsibilities
Represent clients in workers' compensation claims, including petitions, settlements, administrative hearings, and court appearances.
Manage cases from initial consultation to resolution: gather evidence, draft and review legal documents, coordinate with medical professionals, and handle depositions.
Negotiate with opposing counsel to achieve fair settlements.
Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in workers' compensation law and compliance requirements.
Provide clear legal advice to clients, explaining rights, processes, and potential outcomes.
Prepare claims, briefs, appeals, and ensure all paperwork is accurate and compliant with legal standards.
Handle lien negotiations, contributions, and penalties.
Maintain regular, timely communication with clients and provide case updates.
Ensure dictations and billings are accurate and submitted promptly.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active license with the California State Bar.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in workers' compensation law (certification in workers' compensation is a plus).
Strong negotiation, advocacy, and case management skills.
Proficiency in legal research (LexisNexis experience a plus).
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
Additional Requirements
Ability to travel to court hearings, mediations, and client meetings as needed.
Strong verbal communication skills for client interactions and court advocacy.
Comfortable working remotely while being responsive during business hours and available for mandatory in‑person events.
Location: Riverside, CA. Salary: $120,000.00 – $170,000.00. Employment type: Full‑time. Seniority level: Entry level. Job function: Legal. Industries: Staffing and Recruiting.
