Base pay range $130,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr

Role Overview We are looking for an experienced OT Security Engineer to lead the protection of mission-critical industrial environments. This role will take ownership of the design, deployment, and long-term management of security controls that safeguard OT and SCADA systems. You’ll act as the key liaison between operational teams and cybersecurity leadership, ensuring that security measures are practical, robust, and aligned with both industry standards and organizational strategy.

Key Responsibilities Cybersecurity Leadership & Strategy

Act as the technical authority for all OT and ICs cybersecurity initiatives across multiple industrial and energy-related facilities.

Establish security architecture and operational standards in collaboration with engineering and infrastructure teams.

Ensure security approaches align with broader enterprise risk management and compliance goals.

Security Architecture & Engineering

Lead the design of secure network segmentation, access controls, and architecture based on frameworks such as the Purdue Model and Zero Trust.

Implement controls tailored for OT-specific protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP, DNP3, OPC).

Guide system hardening efforts for both hardware and software in the OT environment.

Conduct OT-specific risk assessments, threat modeling, and security gap analyses.

Oversee vulnerability management, patching strategies, and system remediation with minimal operational disruption.

Coordinate and support incident response activities in the event of OT security breaches.

Compliance & Standards Alignment

Maintain adherence to recognized standards such as NIST 800-82, IEC 62443, and other applicable regulations.

Partner with cross-functional teams to embed “secure-by-design” principles into OT project lifecycles.

Qualifications & Experience Education & Core Background

Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent field.

Technical Expertise

5+ years in OT/SCADA cybersecurity roles, preferably within industrial, utility, or energy sectors.

Strong understanding of OT/ICS architectures and industry-specific security protocols.

Proficiency with security tools such as Kali Linux, Claroty, Dragos, or similar platforms.

In-depth knowledge of network security, including segmentation, firewall policy management, and secure remote access.
