Job Summary
Provides executive-level strategic human resource leadership and support and is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and for identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management and engagement goals. Ensures the development, implementation, and delivery of HR policies and practices that improve business and talent capabilities while ensuring high team member engagement. Works closely with HR Centers of Excellence and operational business unit executives to support planning and solve critical HR, talent, and employee relation issues—including compensation planning, succession planning, workforce planning, and talent development. Provides strategic direction in HR functions including labor avoidance, employee relations, employee engagement, and advocacy. Influences and protects organizational culture, monitors, and maintains a positive work environment while ensuring compliance with federal and state labor laws.
Major Responsibilities
Collaborate with executive leadership to define the organization’s long-term mission and goals, identify gaps, opportunities, and key HR issues; identify strategy and tactics to support the mission and goals through appropriate HR solutions and interventions.
Identify and review key performance indicators to identify opportunities, assess success, and evaluate market competitiveness. Partner with clients and HR COEs to develop realistic HR operational strategy and solutions (including organizational effectiveness, recruitment strategy, performance management, compensation planning, succession planning, rewards/recognition, engagement, and talent development) that support linkage of business unit and operational strategies to corporate culture and objectives.
Provide functional leadership guidance and counsel to HRBP teams supporting assigned clients, responding to issues in a timely and effective manner. Manage individual performance, fostering an environment of positive employee engagement and development. Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management. Ensure compliance with employment benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
Oversee employee relations to maintain a positive work environment and drive team member engagement culture and optimal business performance; monitor all employee-related issues to ensure a workplace where team members do not feel the need to seek representation. Serve as an employee advocate and respond to employee and labor relations allegations, investigations, and communications.
Provide guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assist with resolution of human resource compensation, health & welfare, safety compliance, and team member engagement questions, concerns, and issues. Provide voice-of-the-customer insight to HR COEs to ensure competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and team member recognition and incentive programs.
Understand and actively participate in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policy procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Human Resource Development, Human Resource Management, or Business Administration required.
Master’s Degree in HR or Business a plus.
Experience
12 Years with at least 7 years of direct supervisory experience in HR required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
