Responsibilities
Develop and write detailed CNC programs for milling machines and other machining centers using CAM programming tools.
Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements and tolerances.
Utilize CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam and Fusion.
Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure precise part fabrication within specified tolerances.
Set up CNC machines by selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters based on material specifications and machining strategies.
Optimize machining processes through lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance overall efficiency.
Collaborate with customer design engineers to review prototypes and provide feedback on manufacturability and process improvements.
Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, tooling configurations, and process parameters for quality control and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills
Proficiency in CNC programming for milling machines.
Strong knowledge of Haas controls for programming and machine operation.
Deep understanding of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
Familiarity with manufacturing processes including turning, milling, drilling, and boring.
Ability to operate precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and CMMs.
Mechanical knowledge of tooling selection, setup procedures, fixture design, and maintenance routines.
Strong math skills including geometry calculations necessary for precise machining tasks.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations while maintaining high quality standards.
Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues efficiently.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with engineering teams and documenting processes clearly.
