Job Summary
Entry Level Staff Accountant at
AASA, The School Superintendents Association . This entry‑level role is open to new college graduates or students graduating in December 2025. The successful candidate will help prepare and maintain the general ledger, manage accounts payable/receivable, process cash, and support the development of financial reports and internal metrics.
Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries and complete account reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts.
Prepare weekly miscellaneous cash receipts entries.
Post journal entries into Microsoft Dynamics.
Assist with weekly invoice entry into Microsoft Dynamics and review entries.
Monitor daily bank and PayPal transactions and prepare related entries.
Monitor staff credit card balances and perform reconciliations.
Complete ad‑hoc vendor applications.
Respond to internal and external requests for financial information.
Assist with the annual audit and Form 990, preparing lead schedules, reconciliations, analytics, and ad‑hoc audit requests.
Assist with monthly general ledger account reconciliations for cash, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable.
Support the annual budget process, including preparing and submitting department templates and loading the approved budget into Microsoft Dynamics.
Maintain accounting department records and files.
Assist with monthly budget-to-actual reconciliations.
Upload annual budget files to Microsoft Dynamics.
Provide input on efficiency opportunities and ideas for working effectively in a virtual environment.
Benefits and Compensation Starting salary: $60,000–$65,000 annually. The position offers free parking and an on‑site gym. Office work is required two to three days a week, with the remainder remote.
