St. Clement of Rome Parish is seeking a faith-filled, talented, and collaborative
Director of Music and Liturgy
to lead our community in prayerful and joyful worship.
Location: 343 S. Main St., Romeo, MI 48065.
Primary Responsibilities
Report directly to the Pastor/Priest responsible for the parish and collaborate closely with the Worship Commission and Pastoral Leadership team.
Plan and lead music for all parish liturgies and worship events, including weekend and Holy-day Masses, weddings, funerals, and other liturgical celebrations.
Recruit, train, and direct adult and youth choirs and cantors.
Select music consistent with liturgical seasons, scripture and Church teaching, drawing from both traditional and contemporary repertoire.
Provide music and liturgical formation for volunteers and parish groups.
Participate actively in parish staff life and Worship Commission meetings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (preferred in Sacred Music, Liturgical Music, or a related field).
Minimum two years of parish music or liturgical leadership experience.
Proficiency in organ/piano and strong vocal leadership.
Deep understanding of Catholic liturgy, sacraments, and musical tradition.
Ability to work collaboratively, lead volunteers, and foster a prayerful worship environment.
Must complete Archdiocesan safe-environment training and background check.
Position Details Schedule: Full‑time position; includes weekends, holy days, and some evenings.
Reports to: Pastor/Priest responsible for the parish.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience, including benefits.
