Summary of Responsibilities: The EHS Technician II plays a vital role in supporting company-wide environmental health and safety programs—including Lockout/Tagout, Chemical Management, Waste Management, Emergency Response, and PPE requirements by conducting routine facility, equipment, and work area inspections to ensure regulatory compliance and hazard identification. Key responsibilities include: Performing weekly and monthly checks of fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, AEDs, and first aid kits Promptly responding to hazardous, universal, and biomedical waste pickup requests Actively participating in safety committees and hazard awareness inspections Assisting with incident investigations by documenting findings Supporting the development of corrective and preventive actions to ensure a safe andcompliant workplace Responsibilities and Tasks: Conduct assigned weekly and monthly inspections of fire extinguishers, eyewash and shower stations, AEDs, first aid kits, and areas subject to environmental program requirements (e.g., no exposure stormwater permit), ensuring accurate recordkeeping in accordance with company procedures Perform routine facility, equipment, and work area inspections to identify potential hazards, report findings, and support compliance Perform routine facility, equipment, and work area inspections to identify potential hazards, report findings, and support Support the ongoing implementation and maintenance of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs at the Elbit Systems of America Fort Worth Operation (FWO), including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout, Chemical Management, Waste Management, Emergency Response, and Personal Protective Equipment requirements Perform routine facility, equipment, and work area inspections to identify potential hazards, report findings, and support compliance with EHS regulations and internal standards Respond promptly to work order requests for hazardous, universal, and biomedical waste pickups, following established Respond promptly to work order requests for hazardous, universal, and biomedical waste pickups, following established protocols Actively participate as a member of the FWO Safety Committee, supporting committee activities such as monthly hazard awareness inspections and contributing to a culture of safety Assist with incident investigations—including accidents and near misses—by gathering data, documenting findings, and supporting the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions Provide general support for EHS-related training activities, including assisting in the delivery of training sessions and maintaining training documentation Collaborate with team members and management to promote continuous improvement of EHS processes and workplace Collaborate with team members and management to promote continuous improvement of EHS processes and workplace safety Education, Experience & License or Certification: Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in EHS for general industry Technical knowledge in occupational health & safety and environmental programs is required Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and TCEQ regulations Experience required in identifying and evaluating occupational health & safety and environmental risks in the workplace Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, at a minimum Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Here Are Some of the Great Benefits We Offer: Most locations offer a 9/80 schedule, providing every other Friday off Competitive compensation & 401(k) program to plan for your future Robust medical, dental, vision, & disability coverage with qualified wellness discounts Basic Life Insurance and Additional Life & AD&D Insurances are available Flexible Vacation & PTO Generous Employee Referral Program Voluntary Benefits Available: Longer Term Care, Legal, Identify Theft, Pet Insurance, and more Voluntary Tricare Supplement available for military retirees This job description does not list all the duties of the job.
