About the Department of Child Services:
Join a team that engages with families and children to improve lives in meaningful ways. DCS works with children who are victims of abuse or neglect and strengthens families through support and preservation services. The department administers family preservation, foster care, child support, and prevention services throughout Indiana. Your role will be to pursue permanency for children and families through reunification, guardianship, adoption, or support youth transitioning to adulthood. : This position involves working in the Parent Locate unit to find absent parents, working with local and federal agencies, and managing reports related to child support collections and system data. The role is based in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The starting salary is approximately $34,216, commensurate with experience and education. Answer phones, address caller issues, update data, and provide summaries. Respond to emails and helpdesk queries. Research and update employer information in systems. Communicate with employers and county prosecutors to update data. Train employers and caseworkers on policies. Review reports for accuracy and update as needed. The listed activities are not exhaustive; duties may change at any time. What You'll Need for Success:
High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent attendance. Hardworking with high productivity. Ability to handle confidential information. Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong keyboarding skills. Ability to work independently and professionally. Self-motivated and detail-oriented. Ability to meet deadlines and follow instructions. Flexible team player with customer service skills. Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment. Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may include supervisory duties depending on agency needs.
