job summary:
A Design Engineer is needed for a biomedical/biotechnology engineering firm and multinational manufacturer of medical devices in the Maple Grove, MN area. This role designs and develops innovative tools, fixtures, and equipment for medical product development using advanced CAD skills and engineering principles, while ensuring compliance with quality systems and cross-functional collaboration.

responsibilities:
Perform static and dynamic design and analysis of systems, equipment, and tooling.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of manufacturers' technical updates and recommendations.
Study performance/reliability of equipment and identify design errors for correction.
Apply math and engineering standards to develop designs.
Create preliminary sketches, layouts, and final detailed drawings.
Use CAD software to solve technical design problems and ensure drafting/modeling accuracy.
Prepare and release documents via DCO processes and electronic file systems.
Modify designs based on trial/production feedback to optimize performance.
Resolve design issues with shop and engineering teams considering materials, tolerances, services, and cost. Skills:
Medical device/implantable product experience required.
strong SolidWorks proficiency for product and concept modeling.
Ability to understand therapy, user, and technical needs and translate into innovative concepts.
Deep understanding and broad application of engineering principles.
Cross-functional knowledge and collaboration with other departments. Education and Experience:
BS in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience. #LI-MA1
