Maimonides has a full-time opportunity for an occupational therapist to treat physician-referred patients by organizing and conducting occupational therapy programs. You will facilitate rehabilitation of the mentally or physically handicapped as well as direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. In addition, you will facilitate the learning of skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity, and to promote and maintain health.
Responsibilities
Patient Assessment and Treatment Planning : Evaluates patients' physical and mental function appropriate to their age; designs individualized occupational therapy programs to restore functioning or facilitate adjustment. Treatment Implementation and Monitoring : Implements and adapts therapy programs based on patient progress; designs adaptive devices; documents patient reactions and rehabilitative potential. Collaboration and Education : Consults with rehabilitation team on patient programs; trains medical and nursing staff; supervises OT students including treatment observation and note co-signing. Professional Standards and Compliance : Maintains departmental policies, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in accredited program in Occupational Therapy. Licensed in New York State as an OTR (Occupational Therapist Registered). Good interpersonal and English verbal/written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Organizational ability.
Pay Range
